Screen projection TV
Some suggestions please!
Anyone with experience choosing and installing a movie screen type projection HDTV, please tell me about it. I'd like to put one in my Cave. There's lots of room for one, but I don't know anything about that type of unit. There seems to be several price ranges on the Internet and I'm not sure what I need vs. overkill.
Thanks to anyone who answers this request!

Hey I saw your question and I was in kind of the same boat. Figured I'd share what I learned throught my research. Some things I learned
1. Viewing distance..Where will you be sitting and how far away.
2. Quality. I saw cheap units from around $750.00 but I think realistically $1500 closer for a quality unit
3. Lamp life. How much will you be using it? Everyday tv? Or just movies and games. Lamps can cost $150+
4. Out puts. Some projectors are more geared towards presentations etc. While others home theater.
Anyways just a few things I learned. Hope it helped a bit..

Re: Screen projection TV
I have a projector in my basement. Optoma makes a very good 1080p projector fot 1k. It is the hd-20. I have the 720p version, the picture quality is very good. I used special paint and framed the screen. The whole project (screen) cost about 70.00. I have a galary (Greg Bartley) that shows the results. My screen is 16x9 108".
