Installing a Wall Urinal
Wondering if anyone has a heads up on the plumbing for a wall urinal. One of the exterior walls of my Man Cave has a water source available for tapping into, and there are two clean-outs for the homes plumbing about ten yards away to tie into for the waste water. I'm wondering if I'm missing anything. Like, does it have to be vented through the ceiling etc...
Thanks gang!

Yes--- you need a vent it is key for the suction to pull the waste water out and down correctly; also, make sure you have it trapped right otherwise your place will smell like a sewer.
Besides, it's code

Interesting. Never really thought about putting a installing a urinal anywhere. My suggestion in terms of plumbing -- call someone to make all the alterations for you. It isn't worth it if you don't know what you're doing. I tried to do my own plumbing a few years back, and it was disastrous. I won't get into too much detail, but let's say that I ended up spending MORE money throughout the ordeal than just hiring a professional or a knowledgeable buddy.

Rags, another option is a Waterless urinal. You still need to be hooked up to sewer and have a vent, but there is no need for the water. Just a thought!

Hey bros, I would like to dis-suade you from the waterless urinals. We have them where I work and they STINK like an open pit sewer. Please, for the sake of your stomach and any one you care about, don't go that route. Sewer gas is nothing compared to "piss gas". Just fricken' nasty.

Your right Luke, they can be smelly if not maintained regulary. If a water source is available then I also would go with the traditional urinal. If water source isn't available, then this may be your only option.

Thanks y'all. Guess I need to think it over during the cold season that's coming.
