My Australian Mancave Empty My Australian Mancave

Hi all, I have only just recently signed up as a member but have been checking out the website for quite some time to try and pick up some ideas for the mancave I am building in my back yard at the moment. The project has been going on for about 4 months now and myself and my neighbour have worked for hours on end trying to get it finished.
To give you a brief rundown on what we have been doing, we built an 8 x 5 meter colorbond shed on a concrete slab. The slab itself had to be 14.2m2 of concrete as it was built on a slope and I had no site access whatsoever into my rear yard, bugger!
Once the shed was built I got my sparky in to wire up for my lights, ceiling fan, air con and powerpoints, I ran all my speaker wires and TV coax myself. We then lined the ceiling with sheets of corrugated zincalume iron, it come up awesome! The shed walls were then lined with plaster utilising metal tophat batterns and one end of the shed had to be fire rated due to me living in a bushfire zone. We had to timber out the middle purlin so we could cover it as a plaster bulk head which has become a feature in itself. It would have looked crap if I left it exposed.
I obtained quotes to fit a lino floor and also a quote for a nice murray river red timber floor. As I am getting a red gum bar built at the end of August I could not turn down the idea of have a red timber hardwood floor to match. Once this was layed I then ran hardwood skirts around the bottom and then a strip of KD Tassie Oak in front of that to hide any uneven parts of the floor. The floor has really come up a treat.
My plan for the ManCave is to have a fully operational bar incorporating a sink, mirror with shelves on the wall behind it and a good quality ice chiller beer dispencing unit with a tap ran up through the bar. It will also have a wine fridge installed into the bar. I will mount a flat screen TV on the wall which will have a DVD Player, Playstation and a sound system connected to it. I have installed a beautiful OSBURN 1000 wood heater which is on a slate tiled hearth. Up the other end of the cave will be a 7ft slate pool table and an area for darts which both has dedicated lighting(Jim Beam pool table light). I have also got a single glass door fridge which will go obviously up behind next to the bar area. There will be a couch also.
This has been a massive project to date but boy I have had alot of fun doing it. A man needs a place to retreat and hide out and a mancave is the answer, thats for sure!
I will post some pics over the next week or so to give you an idea of the progress.
Ciao
